Some people dream in ideas.

I dream in things that can be built.

I've always been drawn to creating—whether that's sculpting, designing products, building structures, repairing something that others thought couldn't be fixed, or helping bring a wild idea into reality. I love the process of taking something imagined and making it tangible.

Over the years I've followed many different paths. I've taught art to young people and adults, worked as an arborist labourer, repaired boats using sculptural techniques, shaped surfboards, worked in construction, washed dishes at large events, and now run a 3D printing business designing custom creations through additive manufacturing.

On paper they might seem like very different jobs, but to me they've always been the same thing.

Learning.

Creating.

Figuring things out.

People often come to me when they're faced with a problem that doesn't have an obvious solution. I enjoy thinking outside the box, working things through from first principles, and finding practical ways forward. Sometimes that's with technology. Sometimes it's with timber. Sometimes it's simply by listening.

What draws me most to JAANYMILI is creating a life where families don't have to do everything alone.

I want my children to grow up surrounded by people who genuinely care, where skills are shared, meals are gathered around, and everyone has something meaningful to contribute. A place where differences can be spoken about openly and worked through together.

Building community isn't only about constructing buildings.

It's about creating spaces where people can belong.

Recently I've been helping establish our community infrastructure, including initiating the construction of our communal kitchen, creating workshop spaces, and developing a home for my tools and 3D printing business. I love projects that bring people together and leave something useful behind.

I'm continually learning too.

Stillness.

Zenthai Shiatsu.

Native fibre weaving.

Syntropic gardening.

Because I believe there's always another skill to learn and another perspective to understand.

Looking ahead, I see myself living simply on the land with my children, continuing to grow my business, creating things that are genuinely useful, and supporting the long-term vision of village life alongside the people I love.

If you have an idea you'd like to bring to life, need help solving a practical challenge, or would simply like to connect, I'd love to hear from you.

Create Together

Whether it's a custom 3D design, creative problem-solving, product development, practical building, or bringing an idea from imagination into reality, let's start with a conversation.
